Practicing Gratitude
Just read your Nov. newsletter and loved it. Thought I'd share a new practice I've begun using. When writing checks (no matter if they're to the electric company or a car payment, or whatever); I now write "gratefully" above the recipient's name and "thank you" above my signature. Kind of turns bill paying into a blessing rather than a chore. We certainly have a lot to be grateful for i.e. that we have lights and that there is enough money in the checkbook to cover the check. Wish I could see the looks on the faces of the recipients receiving my checks. They probably think I'm a bit out of whack, but at least I smile more now. Thought you might enjoy this little tip. Gratefully, Lois

Petting My Dog
One activity I use to forget my pain is to pet my dog. My dog always makes me feel happy. By realizing this, every time my dog comes to me for affection, I remember that it's also my time to heal.
